   THE CHARACTERISTICS OF CLASSICALGUITAR BACK&SIDE

Flower core wood is a commonly used wood for low-end pianos, including walnut, sapele, sycamore, ash, luan wood, basswood, etc., which are all low-end materials.

When have you ever seen high-end factory guitars using these materials, let alone concert guitars?
The back and side bass of Mahogany and Sapele are not cohesive enough, taste a little earthy, and cannot produce a very clean and elegant sound. The clarity and balance are also poor, and it is only used by certain folk guitars.
Walnut has better reflection than mahogany, but it is basically the same as mahogany. The sound is not clean, the cohesion is worse than rosewood, and the reach is average.
As for the sycamore wood, the sound is dull, the ash wood has a dull sound, the Liu'an wood is sapele, and the basswood has no feeling. It is even more inferior material.

The preferred back and side boards for making classical guitars:
1. Fine Brazilian Rosewood, 2. Fine Madagascar Rosewood, 3. Fine Honduran Rosewood, 4. Fine Indian Rosewood, 5. Fine Coco Pineapple Rosewood, 6. Fine African Ebony.
There is also Santos rosewood, which is very light in color and has a somewhat wide grain. Generally speaking, the mahogany market does not consider it to be mahogany, and the bass dive made by it is very average.
Generally, the darker the color of rosewood, the denser and clearer the lines, the better. The bass of rosewood dives very well, the sound is condensed and not scattered, and the tone is soft and thick.

Maple back and sides for classical guitars:
1. Fine black-eye maple, 2. Fine tiger maple, 3. Fine flowing maple.
The back and sides of maple wood can reflect soft and elegant treble, and the bass is more elegant than rosewood, but the depth is average. Made with maple back and sides, it can imitate the sound of a piano.
Some guitars use three pieces on the back and sides, and maple and rosewood are used to balance the high and low notes and bring out the advantages of the two woods.

Cedar back and sides for classical guitars:
1. Fine cedar wood. Cedar wood is mainly used to make flamenco guitars.
Cedar wood has sensitive reflection, clear high and low sounds, and abundant and penetrating sound. Very suitable for rhythm patterns, but the tone lacks detail, so it is rarely used on Classical Guitar.

Many famous pianos in history are mostly made of the above materials. If there were better material makers, they would have tried it long ago.
